Testimonials

What sets Tony apart from other personal trainers is his ability to assess a person's weakness and target that area to turn it into a strength thereby reducing injuries. I have been working with Tony for 3 years and he continues to challenge me at every session, never resting on his laurels. In my opinion, this is rare in a personal trainer. He quite simply is the best!  Anita March

Tony has been an enormously positive influence on my overall health and physical fitness. He provides extremely challenging workouts that actually HELP my problematic lower back... he is highly recommended!  Somehow Tony manages to be thoroughly likable even when he is completely kicking your ass. He has been a very positive influence on my health and fitness, and I HIGHLY recommend his services. Charlene Gervais

I thought I was experienced in the weight room and never thought I would need the assistance of a personal trainer.  After all, exercise had been a part of my routine since early high school and after having gone through many fitness regimens for football in college, what was there that I didn’t know?  Well that is what I thought until a few years ago.  I first met Tony during a training session break as his client was gasping for air.  While I went through my exercise routine, I watched as Tony put clients through the paces.  Too often I found myself trying to replicate what I had seen, but simply could not match the intensity Tony had his clients putting forth.  I finally decided to sign up for a few training sessions…it’s been 2 solid years now and I haven’t looked back.  Then again, its hard to look anywhere when you’re the one gasping for air… Mike Salem

Presently in the sport of golf, strength and conditioning has become an integral part of success at the professional level. The amateur is also becoming aware of the requirements, benefits, and the essential need to condition the body relative to the biomechanics of the golf swing. Unfortunately many amateur players are unaware of what type of physical conditioning is required to support the golf swing.

The golf swing is one of the most intricate athletic actions to perform in sport today, and any error in timing, body position, or sequencing will result in an inefficient golf swing. Inefficiencies lead to breakdowns in the biomechanics of the swing and the develop compensations within the execution of the swing.  Compensations also result most commonly from physical limitations. Any individual can have a physical limitation and still have an effective swing.  Effective meaning they will hit the ball clean, straight and usually where the golfer wants it to go, but without an efficient swing, the golfer will surely come across and injury or multiple injuries.  Even Tiger Woods, the number one golfer in the world, had multiple injuries to his knee and lower leg last year that kept him out of golf for a year because his swing was not efficient.

All the instruction in the world will not help a golfer if they have physical limitations.  A Golf instructor can alter a swing to make better ball contact but without an efficient swing, the golfer will lose power, accuracy and will surely injure themselves in time. Target Zone Golf Training and the Golf Performance Leagues identify those limitations, provide comprehensive
performance improvement programs designed specifically to help golfers of all skill levels develop more stability, flexibility, mobility, strength, power and better biomechanics in their golf swing.  Specialized programs for everyone from beginners to the advanced, juniors, seniors and women will all be tailored and structured to fit each individuals specific needs.

A six week customized workout program will be sent out to each member of the GPL after a comprehensive evaluation during the first week of the league or after an evaluation from Target Zone Golf Training through the Titleist Performance Institute website.  These programs will have a detailed correct number of sets and repetitions that will include video demonstrations of each exercise that are easy to follow and can be downloaded on your I pod or MP3 player.  Whether you have access to a full health club facility or no exercise equipment at all, the GPL and TZGT will tailor the workout specific to your needs and the equipment you have available.  Each week of the GPL the members will do a workout to help increase stability, balance, flexibility, mobility, strength and power along with a clinic taught by a Class A PGA instructor from the Chicagoland Golfing Academy.  Each week a new clinic will be taught for the different facets of the game: driving, long irons, short irons, pitching, chipping and putting.

After the workout and clinic are done in the GPL, you will have an opportunity each week to practice and use what you have learned through the program on the course for nine holes.  We will be keeping score each week to see how you progress through the program.  We will also be logging your initial weight and body composition the first week and the last week to see how much body fat you have lost over the six week program.  Great prizes will be awarded to the members who improve their score the most and to the members who lose the most body fat.  We will also have putting, chipping and pitching contest over the course of the program.  A hole in one challenge will be going on each week with a chance to win $10,000 in cash, a trip to Las Vegas staying at the Mandalay Bay Resort, a Harley Davidson Motorcycle and even a brand new Ford Mustang!

Nutritional guidance will also be provided through both the Target Zone Golf Training and the Golf Performance Leagues programs to help give its members a better education as to how to eat more sensibly to fit their lifestyles.  The amount and type of calories you consume can directly effect not only how you feel through the day but also how you feel through a round of golf.  These programs help the members burn fat more efficiently while making their days more productive and energized!

Both the Golf Performance Leagues and the Target Zone Golf Training programs help you enjoy the game of golf more by increasing your strength, flexibility and power specific to the biomechanics of the golf swing so you can hit the ball farther and more efficiently.  They also increase your overall health to keep you on the golf course longer and pain free for many years to come.                                  to sign up!
